Mattapoisett is represented at four levels of government. Unlike most Cape and South Shore towns, our state districts carry Bristol County names — we share them with Fairhaven, Marion, Rochester, Acushnet, and New Bedford. Here is who currently holds each seat.
Every Mattapoisett precinct is in the same districts — there is no split to untangle. Look up your exact state and federal representatives by address at malegislature.gov/Search/FindMyLegislator, or ask the Mattapoisett Town Clerk.
Town Government
Mattapoisett governs itself by open Town Meeting, where every registered voter has a voice and a vote, with a five-member Select Board — expanded from three by the Legislature in 2025 and first elected at full size in May 2026 — and a Town Administrator. Meeting dates, agendas, and minutes are published by the Town at mattapoisett.gov — and we track the upcoming ones for you on our Town Meetings page.
Mattapoisett deserves strong, accountable representation at every level. The Mattapoisett Republican Town Committee works to recruit and elect candidates who will fight for our families, taxpayers, and values — and to give voters a real choice on the ballot. Get involved and help us build the bench.
